Apartment Description
An impressive location, modern apartments and first-class tenant services combine to make 62 Boylston Street one of Boston’s most convenient locations to experience true city living. Situated on the corner of Boylston St & Tremont St, across from the... Boston Common, 62 Boylston Street was originally opened as The Hotel Touraine in 1897. Several renovations to modernize the apartments, the building still has its historical charm.
I lived here for a year and a half, and when my first lease expired they raised my rent $400. Then I started hearing noises from the ceiling. Soon after, I saw a giant rat run out of the laundry room, which by the way is usually out of order. I called maintenance, the management company, and went to the management office numerous times about the rats. They laughed in my face and completely ignored my concerns. This place is filthy, and the only reason I stayed is because I was finishing school... nearby. PLEASE do yourself a favor and live somewhere else.

Love 62 on the Park, such a great apartment. No one disturbs you, a 20-minute walk to Charles River, you have Starbucks and Tatte nearby, and Chipotle is a 5-10 minute walk, you have not one but two CVS, two 7eleven and two Dunkin' Donuts within a 10-15 min walk. You have to pay for laundry separately and they charge you for an access stub (to the building), they have maintenance that really helps you if something doesn't work. Secure and peaceful! Yes, it can get pretty noisy on Friday and... Saturday nights if you live by the street view, but it's fun too!

Max and Earl are the only good things about this apartment

If you are a college student who is fine living in affordable housing with minimal comforts and services, this is the place for you.
Move in: you have to idle your truck in the back alley with someone in the truck so you don't get a ticket or towed. The alleyway and service entrance are littered with garbage and it smells of urine. Protect your possessions. I was also informed my key would be ready at the front desk at 8am, but there was a mix-up, and I had to wait for the leasing office to... open and for them to find my key.
Doormen: Max is the absolute best. He is friendly and nice. Unfortunately, I only see him once or twice per week. The rest of the week, the other doorman/"concierge" (not sure what this man's name is) seems annoyed that you ask about a package and then when he finds it, walks past you, handing you the package without looking at you. I've never experienced anything like it. You can be as polite and nice as you want - he does not care. One time he couldn't find my package, so I dug through two boxes of packages and found my own. This is what they call "mailroom service".
Hamilton Company / emergency responses: I blew a fuse recently, which caused my entire apartment to lose electricity. I went down to the front desk, and the doorman (the rude one) said "are you sure you paid your electricity bill?" I then called the Hamilton Company's emergency line and they told me to call the power company. I finally got in touch with Earl (bless him) and he came and fixed the fuse right away. Early is the man, but he's stretched across six different properties. I hope he is paid well and gets great benefits. I'll just say that I was lucky to get in touch with him.
Laundry: There are indeed laundry facilities on each floor: one washer and one dryer ($5 for a laundry card, $3 per wash, $3 per dryer, so you know). The dryer on my floor has been out of service for about a week. I tried to use it once, and it ate my $3. I went down to the leasing office, and not only could they not reimburse me on the spot, but the woman said she could "maybe" reimburse me via my next rent bill.
Apartment unit: there are outlets that do not work, and the windows look frosted for how dirty they are. The screens need to be re-meshed. Those are my top two complaints. I will also note that because the building is surrounded by tall buildings, the apartments get very little natural light.
Bottom line: the service of this building is non-existent.

I had to move to Boston for residency from Philadelphia, PA. The location is right next to Chinatown, has a Starbucks right next door, and a subway stop across the street. I did check out the apartment prior to moving in, and gave the managers a list of conditions with photos that I would like their help with fixing. The building managers Lucresha and Carol were very helpful in resolving everything on my list (My bathroom tub and sliding doors look brand new!), and answered all my questions... within a timely manner via emails/phone calls. Each floor does have a laundry unit that you will need a money card to pay and use, but that saves me time from having to carry my laundry outside the building and back. Been here only a short time, so I will update more as Boston re-opens. The only issue I had during this entire process was I wasn't getting the updated lease contract even though I was informed by my retailer that Hamilton Company told her they sent it. That was quickly fixed when my retailer just emailed me the contract herself.
